 Nice watch with a cheap movementSep 05, 2011

Very nice design. 38 mm width (without crown) and 7,8 mm thick. You could prefer more classical shaped hands (baton, for instance).
Sphere looks very neat and appealing with roman numerals, specially with leather strap.
BUT, it has the relatively new 805.112 calibre. Even if it is an ETA manufacture, it belongs to the Fashionline group. The official ETA website introduces it that way: "Economical movements for mass produced watches". It is not serviceable, but rather to be substituted in case of being in need of repair. It keeps the time well, but you will probably feel the lack of adjustment of this calibre (mainly plastic, looks much as a cheap Miyota counterpart and is sold new by some $10 in the aftermarket).
The minute hand -in my watch anyway- has a play that makes it difficult (in fact impossible) to synchronize it properly with the other hands, because it will move loosely back and forth the distance of about a half minute (plus) depending of the position of the minute hand in respect to gravity... This is due to the play in the wheels, and it seems there's no way to get rid of that.
For me this is utterly disappointing for a near $200 "Swiss made" watch. None of my quartz Seikos or Citizens have a play like that! (let alone my mechanicals).
I'm looking now for a Tissot Desire, that has a much better movement: the well known ETA F06.111, also a sapphire crystal and is nice looking by any means.

I have had this watch for about three weeks and I think it's a nice one. I like the simple experience and it works accurately. Also the sound of the sencond hand working is not so lound. But I think the hands are a little too thin, maybe it can save power in this way.

Had a Rolex (that I gave to my Son) so replaced it with a Tissot and am extremely happy with purchase.

This watch is a classic piece that every man needs in his arsenal. It can be worn for any occasion. It is slightly less brilliant than the picture depicts, however it is almost better than the picture because it is more understated.
