Broke for no reasonMar 30, 2009
By Russell Lloyd

Watch arrived ahead of schedule and in perfect condition. Looked and felt great. After about a week, I put the watch on my nightstand before I went to bed, and woke up to find the glass face completely shattered for no apparent reason. Temperature in my room was fine, and watch was never worn in harsh environment. The chronograph function is also nearly impossible to read.

stylish but not the highest qualityOct 31, 2008
By Nina I got this watch as a gift for my husband. He was very excited because the watch looks great. However after a week, when left overnight the crystal popped and cracked from within as if from internal pressure. Although the warranty does not cover the crystal, we called Skagen and they said they would replace it. Hoping that this time it will stay intact.

Nice watch until the glass shatters for no reasonAug 11, 2009
By Finagle HAs anyone had this happen? Of course now I've heard of it happening with other Skagen's. I wake up this morning, go to put it on and there are pieces of plastic/crystal/whatever around the watch on my coffeetable. Bizarre but apparently its not unheard of with this brand. I will not be purchasing another Skagen any time soon

Beautiful watch....but poor instructionsNov 23, 2008
By Sean M. Ryan The quality and design of Skagen watches always impressed me. Why buy a boring Tag or Rolex, when you can have something much more unique. This is my third Skagen. I'm a little suspicious of the suggested retail prices of these watches though because they always seem to be more than double of what I actually pay for them. This particular watch was a brand new release...how did I get it for half of the suggested retail price already? Who knows?! But it's a very nice watch. My one minor complaint (which was almost major in my case) is that Skagen needs to privide better instructions with their watches. This watch came with a screw out crown--which I've never experienced with other watches. I thought the crown was frozen in place, to the extent that I actually took a pair of needle nosed plyers to the crown (yikes! don't do this at home). I was going to return the watch, but luckily I managed to get ahold of the retailer who obviously new more about this watch than I did. He explained the screw out crown mechanism to me. So Skagen--clean up your act with the instructions. Your designs are so clean already.

The crystal is CRAP!Mar 12, 2009
By Mark A. Guymon I bought this watch for my Skagen-loving husband for Christmas. He has a much more expensive Skagen watch that he's had for several years and I have one, too. Well, after not wearing the watch for a few days, he put it on his wrist, walked down the stairs, went to check the time and the crystal had cracked almost in half in that one minute period of time.
Honestly, is the bad PR about the crystals worth using the super cheap glass? If Skagen won't replace the crystal, we are done with their watches. Danish design used to mean quality - this is a cheap watch - stay away.
