 Time works, but has DATE flawsFeb 24, 2010

First off, Amazon.com once again had excellent service. The watch arrived very fast, and I have absolutely no complaints with Amazon or its services.
The problem lies with the actual watch. The time works (hour, minute, and second hands). However, this watch has a date function which should tell you the day of the month. I tried to configure it, but it could never give me the correct day. The first number should only have a range from 0-3 (ie, January 01st, 11th, 21st, or 31st), but it went all the way up to 9. MAJOR ERROR!
Skagen is a great company that makes great watches (I own other Skagen watches), but they need to fix this feature.

I was looking for a simple, nice looking watch without the tangle of timers and multiple buttons, plus BIG date, and found this one.
I like it. It is much nicer than in the photos, with subtle colors and understated elegance.
The date is big and I can see it without my reading glasses.
The dauphine hands are a polished gold color, which makes then easy to see - either they shine, or when not shining, appear quite dark.
The watch face is a sort of pale, slightly brushed metallic, the brushed part being in one direction, vertical, and the brushing is barely enough to make it non-reflective but not s much as to interfere with the clean appearance.
The crystal glass is gently curved, which make it much nicer than flat glass. I don't think it is anything but hardened glass - cannot expect sapphire at this price point, but definitely better than generic flat glass.
Watch setting is easy - the Amazon page has instructions, as well as they came in the box (mis-spelled in a couple places, but no problem setting the date and time).
All in all, a nice watch and probably worth the MSRP, leave alone the discounted price on the Amazon site.
Recommended for someone looking for an elegant, clean design with a big date and features that put it in a somewhat higher class than its price would dictate.

The watch looks much beautiful in real than in the picture. I would recommend going to a shop to first see the watch before buying. It is very light weight too. Setting the date is a bit tricky initially but once you know how it works, it is much easier and faster than conventional watches with dates. The only reason I am giving it a 4 star is that the watch did not come with a warranty card. I wrote to skagen and within a week they sent me a warranty card.

Love skagen brand for PRICE,STYLING and DURADLITY. I have ten other skagen watches and never any problems. Before I bought this skagen I didnt like the reviews but still decided to purchase it because of price. I faced same problem other people did, and that is date. It is very hard to set and once set it won't keep up.
