1substandard product...Mar 22, 2009
By J. D. Buckwell
Had to return this product due to the bezel not operating properly (would not line up with the outer markers.) I went ahead and opted for the refund, and purchased one from a closer and more reliable (or tangible) source. I wonder if the substandard products, that normally would be unfit for sale, are finding a home here on amazon. I hope not, since amazon is such a convenient way to shop.

Taking the focus away from amazon and back on Luminox: My research has provided me with way too many accounts of quality control issues with Luminox watches. Their chrono movement needs to constantly be reset or fixed, their bezels rarely line up with the outer markers properly, and sometimes freeze-up completely. Were talking about Swiss watches that fetch an average of $600. USD here!

Luminox is also burdened with the flattery of having tons of counterfeits saturating their market. Combine that with the common practice Luminox has with slight-changing the print graphics on their dials and dial rings that hold the tritium, it is nearly impossible to truly know the origin of your Lumi. I noticed 2 different dial variations with the authentic F-117 EVO alone.

Bottom line: There are some products that are safer to purchase on line than others. The deals are fantastic here on amazon... but that deal comes with a bit of risk when you're talking about Luminox watches.

Hope my review has helped you.

5Great WatchJun 17, 2009
By Rod
I have had this watch for some time now (more than a couple of years). I am in sales and wear this every day to work, at home when I am working in the yard, in the pool, and have it on with just about everything I do. I have dropped this watch on a tile floor multiple times and true to it's tough nature and design, despite a few scratches looks as good as the day I bought it. The battery is still the original battery and it lights up as well as it did the day I brought it home (which is surprising as every watch I have ever owned with this type of illumination has always lost its brightness in time). I bought this watch because of a failed experience with a Tag Heuer that I spent over $2K on, after 4 or 5 times of getting it repaired they replaced it with a new one, and the new watch failed a year later ($650 to repair it). I wanted a durable watch that would last and this has definately been it... By far, it is the best watch I have ever owned.

5Luminox 6401May 17, 2011
By HGR2
This is my third Luminox in about 12 years. The others are still working perfectly but the 1st one is losing much of its lumination. I am really pleased with the 6401 so far. It is comparable to the 8401 size wise and has a really easy to read dial and if the battery really lasts 10 years it will be just about the perfect watch. By then it will be time for another anyway. Amazon shipped it when they said they would and at one of the best prices I found. Highly Recommended.

1Do not buy from this vendor!!!Nov 23, 2010
By Doug S
This watch leaked well within the warranty period. When I contacted to seller the instruction I was given was to take the watch to an authorized repair center. I did. The authorized repair center stated that neither Amazon nor its affiliates are authorized sellers and therefore the warranty was not honored. The estimate for repairs was $150+. Do not buy this product. Do not buy form this seller.

Great watch, my husband loves it. It's lightweight, comfortable, affordable and practical.
Recommend it to watch lovers out there.
