Handsome Looks But Weak LuminosityMay 08, 2010
By ZarDoz The Invicta 7041 Signature series diver's watch scores high marks from me for
attractive looks and a sapphire crystal for easy reading. The screw-in crown
has a high quality feel. Rotating the scalloped bezel is quite difficult
especially with wet fingers. I would prefer the coin edge style used on the
Invicta 8126c. The Miyota movement on this watch runs about 18 seconds fast per
24 hours. Not great but acceptable for an automatic movement. The stainless
steel band once properly fitted looks and feels great. The only drawback is
that the polished center links tend to smudge easily. Invicta does include a
polishing cloth which is helpful.
The "dagger" style hour and minute hands are easy to read in dim lighted rooms or
out of doors. But the most disappointing aspect of this watch is the weak coating
of Invicta's Tritnite brand of luminous on the hands and hour indicators. Even after
charging several hours in bright sunlight or florescent lighting, the hour indicators
fade to unreadability after about 30 minutes. The hour and minute hands fair somewhat
better and last for about two hours. I found the lack of luminosity a major draw back
since this watch is allegedly Invita's answer to the much brighter Seiko black monster.
All in all this is not a bad watch. Just don't count on reading the time in the dark
hours prior to dawn.

I bought a matching pair of these, the women's watch for my mom and the men's for my dad. I may have to buy 2 more of the men's watches for my brother and I. very nice, great presentation and a good warranty. They are sturdy, durable, and clean looking.

Looks good in daylightApr 13, 2010

"Watchout"
This watch looks as good as the picture, and if that is most important to you, you will like it. Unfortunately, it does not keep accurate time. Mine has consistently gained four minutes per week for three weeks, now. If you enjoy resetting your watch every few days, or don't worry about accurate time, this watch will work well for you. Another note: the hands are luminous, as advertised, but only in total darkness and then very faintly. If there is even the slightest ambient light, the hands cannot be seen. Be alert to the vendor's return policy. The vendor will "happily" accept returns within 30 days PROVIDED THAT YOU DO NOT TAKE THE WATCH OUT OF THE BOX. Once you have removed it from its wrapping and placed it on your wrist, it is yours forever. The obvious problem for the consumer with this return policy is that the inaccurate timekeeping cannot be detected while the watch is in its box (and even the very dim luminosity would be difficult to detect in the packaged watch). Two stars is a generous rating, but I should have been more careful in reading the return policy; buying a watch online is very risky. The manufacturer provides a warranty against defects in "craftsmanship", but it requires a minmum additional investment of $50 for shipping charges, plus insurance, and requires a "warranty card" which I did not receive.
