GORGEOUS PIECE OF JEWELRY, HORRIBLE TIMEPIECEJan 01, 2012
By Suzie Mcleod I purchased this watch from Neiman Marcus around 2003-04, the only difference being that mine is the version with pink sapphires rather than diamonds. The watch is absolutely gorgeous in appearance, a real show-stopper and attention getter. The timekeeping, for lack of a better word, sucks! It's the worst watch I've ever had. It runs fast (and I mean fast, 5 minutes fast for every couple hours or more), then it runs slow. It's been sent back to Chanel for service twice, and serviced by the master jeweler at the Sak's 5th Ave. in San Diego once. It continues to fail. I've abandoned it now because the crown will not screw down completely, which is important if you swim, scuba dive, or even shower with your watch on. I'll think I have it screwed down, then it will pop out.
If you want a gorgeous casual watch and your main objective is as a piece of jewelry, this one may fit the bill, but if you care what the actual time is, I'm afraid this one won't do it.
My husband also has the white ceramic chronograph version, and he pitched his in the jewelry box years ago, never to be worn again, as it had similar issues.
