Great value.Jul 20, 2009
By Paul This is a great watch for the money. I've taken it surfing a few times now -- the tide indicator works reasonably well, provided you set it up correctly (google recommended for that) -- and after simply washing away any sand or surf wax from the day, it still looks glossy and brand new. I have a few watches, some of which are exponentially more expensive than this one, but I find myself wearing this more and more (even when not doing anything that would require the G-Shock 'toughness'). It works well and just happens to look great to boot.

Casio G-Shock G-LideSep 03, 2009
By Ralph Tompkins Nice watch. Definitely a smaller version of the G-Shock Line. It has a very glossy appearance, more glossy than the picture. The major downside are the buttons on the watch are very small, and can be difficult to use.

SimpleJun 25, 2010
By L. Kellum Old school styling, simple interface. Shiny band, doesnt feel cheap though. Low profile doesn't hang up in my gear when putting arms through sleeves in wetsuits, backpacks, or heavy coats.

AccurateJun 04, 2010
By Rafael Estrada Accurate watch to predict tides, tested in the St. Lawrence estuary, Québec. Nice look, buttons are well placed (no accidental button pressing). It would be nice to know sunrise and sunset for the next G-Lide generation.

Love this watch - bought a second one as a backupJul 18, 2011

I've owned the black GLC5600 for nearly 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I kayak and really only like to go out at high tide... therefore this watch is exceptionally useful. I set the tides for my location nearly 2 years ago and it remains deadly accurate.
It may be difficult to locate your particular Lunitidal Interval for your location, but Google should eventually yield the proper value. For those in the Long Island Sound to Maine region, the proper Lunitidal Interval is: 11 hours and 10 minutes
With this value, I can look at my watch all the way up to Maine and be certain of accurate tidal information.
I love this watch so much that I recently purchased a second that is sitting in a drawer waiting for the day that this one gets destroyed (if ever!). If I never end up using it, I'll have a wonderful Casio antique in to sell on eBay in the year 2040. :)
